We’re pleased to announce that JT International Business Services’ (JTI) new office at Orange, MediaCity has been independently recognised as a high-performance workplace, ranking it fourth in the world and the best in Manchester.
Rated by Leesman, JTI have achieved the Leesman+ award for their workplace that enables employees to work effectively. From conducting employee surveys, Leesman measures workplaces on an effectiveness scale of 0-100, with the Leesman+ being awarded to workplaces that score 70 or above. JTI scored an impressive 80.8, which is 30 per cent higher than the score they achieved for their previous workplace at Salford Quays.
This is the second accolade for their Manchester workplace after also achieving a SKA Gold rating, the highest class of the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) environmental assessment and benchmark.
Partnering with JTI right through from consultancy to delivery, the new 16000 sq ft office has been created to enhance their strong company values and culture of autonomy, enterprise and openness, whilst supporting their people to work freely and collaboratively.
We created a flexible, connected and task-focused environment, optimising the natural light that floods the 11th floor office. The space features a variety of flexible work settings, an adaptable meeting and events suite, amphitheatre, social and dining area, and ‘The Zen Zone’ – a biophilic space, complete with swinging chairs and inspiring panoramic views, for employees to retreat, reflect and recharge physically and mentally.
Paulo Lopes, General Manager and the visionary behind the project, said, “This is a fantastic achievement that we are very proud of. Our new workplace has been an all-encompassing cultural change and we have really seen the positive impact on the team since moving in in November, fostering creativity and collaboration.
“Receiving both the Leesman+ and SKA Gold for our office joins our trophy cabinet, along with our Top Employer for the second consecutive year which we received in February.”
The Leesman+ award recognises JTI as a workplace that supports employees to work productively through diverse settings – scoring particularly high were areas for collaboration, informal meetings and taking a break. Unsurprisingly, the stunning natural light and plants and greenery scored very highly too.
Andy Burke, Director at TSK commented: “JTI wanted us to “create an office that smiles to people, that is eco-friendly and is award-winning.” It was a brilliant project to be involved with and working with Paulo and his team was inspiring.
“We’re delighted that they’re receiving recognition and we’re also really pleased as this is the second workplace we’ve created that achieves this prestigious status, after AJ Bell’s success earlier this year.”
