Supporting collaboration and new ways of working
Following the creation of Weightmans’ new workplace at No 1. Spinningfields in Manchester, we partnered with the national law firm again to design a new space this time for their Birmingham team.
Weightmans wanted to create a more agile, collaborative workspace that supports their people in delivering quality services to their clients.
Pivotal to the project was bringing people together across two floors to support new ways of working, creating an open, connected environment that encourages a more integrated, ‘one team’ ethos.
We took time to understand Weightmans’ agile working needs and how activity-based space could best support employees’ activities and working patterns. The design we delivered incorporates a variety of settings, including neighbourhoods with workstations and collaborative spaces, all focused around a central hub where employees can socialise, eat and relax.
The result is a workplace that enables the Weightmans team to work comfortably and effectively in a supportive, task-focused environment.
Along with supporting people to work at their best, the new space is an impressive environment to welcome visitors and new recruits, helping Weightmans to attract the best new talent in a fast-changing and competitive market.
Richard Osborn, Partner and Head of Weightmans Midlands Region, said:
“As a firm, we’re focused on two things – our people and our clients. To continue delivering an outstanding service to our clients, our people must always remain central to our strategy.
“Supporting our people is the single reason for undertaking this project – to create an environment where our team can enjoy spending time, that supports their wellbeing and which facilitates a more flexible, agile way of working that equips us well for the future.”
