The British Council for Offices (BCO) North Awards, recognise outstanding efforts in transforming landmark office buildings across the region. Brabner’s relocation project in Manchester, developed by partners; TSK Group, Incognito, Knight Frank, Crookes Walker Consulting Limited and Tsunami Axis, was announced as the winner of the Fit Out of Workplace category

The move to 100 Barbirolli Square in Manchester, provided a unique opportunity for the 200-year-old legal firm to modernise and transform the way it works. The judges were impressed with the forward-thinking approach, with the striking design encouraging connection and collaboration as well as being inspired by the history of Barbirolli Square, the Halle Orchestra, and the concept of sound.

The open, split-level workspace supports hybrid and flexible working and gives employees more choice in where and how they work. The creation of an internal staircase has connected the different levels of the office physically and visually, providing a seamless transition between spaces. This unique approach has transformed the way that Brabner's employees work, providing them with a modern and inspiring environment that supports their needs and encourages creativity.

The team demonstrated an outstanding commitment to excellence, and winning in the Fit Out of Workplace category is a testament to the team's vision and commitment to innovation.

We’re thrilled to have won the award and we’re grateful to the BCO for recognising the team's hard work and dedication. This will continue to inspire to transform office spaces and create innovative environments that support employees and promote productivity.

Phil Hannis, Chief Operating Officer at TSK said: “The project for Brabners was definitely one of the more complex and detailed designs that we have delivered over recent times, especially with the level of work and detail that went into the creation of the amazing ceilings throughout the facility, with multiple trades, features and finishes being combined & co-ordinated to create them.

“This attention to detail was a major aspect of the project, which required a significant level of design development time and collaboration between all parties to ensure that the end result was exemplary.

Throughout all of the three recent projects we have delivered with the Brabners team, this sense of collaboration and team ethos has been something to behold, not only with our supply chain but more importantly with the client, designers (Incognito), project managers (Knight Frank), mep consultants (Crookes Walker) and the furniture team (Tsunami Axis).”

This was echoed by Robert White, Brabners CEO, who said: ”To win was a fantastic achievement and a clear demonstration of the fantastic teamwork (and ethic) that has developed between our respective businesses over the past couple of years. So, from that perspective, the award is genuinely as much yours, as it is ours"
