As design innovators and problem solvers, we’re continually seeking out new learnings, engaging with emerging trends, and connecting with new suppliers.

Clerkenwell Design Week is a key date in the calendar for TSK, as it provides us with the opportunity to connect, create and evolve in our ever-changing approach to workplace design.

The two-day event takes place in the heart of London’s design hub in Clerkenwell, home to one of the most concentrated communities of creative businesses and architects on the planet.

Industry professionals flock to the location each year to get involved with this fantastic festival-like tradeshow that brings vibrancy to every corner as temporary art installations take over narrow side streets, exhibitions bring to life leading brands, and curated events provide the floor for networking opportunities.

This week our Design teams spent time immersing themselves in the spirit of the week—taking in inspiration and connecting with suppliers to discuss essential topics.

Clerkenwell Design Week Review

We spoke to our Design team to see how they found the Clerkenwell experience…

Craig Murray - Strategy & Design Director

“Clerkenwell Design Week is a unique opportunity for the team to gather, reflect and share ideas on materials, furniture, and trends outside of a client project. In a location where the energy and scale of Clerkenwell were exciting, it allowed everyone to connect and share experiences that are fundamental ingredients of TSK's culture and our shared history. I am sure everyone will have a story to tell or a memory that will raise a smile in the future.”

Amiee Gray - Designer

“We really enjoyed Clerkenwell this year. It was lovely to spend time with the team outside the office. A couple of highlights for me were the 'Icons of Denmark' showroom with some beautiful new pieces, including the 4T system, so it was great to see how they had used this within the showroom. Also, the new materials and colour palettes they were using were really inspirational!

“The Boss showroom was also a favourite as it had a lovely, calming, immersive atmosphere with clever use of layered lighting & fragrance. The Senator showroom was similar again, with a lovely staging of different settings, textured fabrics, sheer curtains used, and tonal fabric colourways. They also had an immersive sustainability exhibition which contrasted with the showroom itself but got you thinking about this element—an amazing lunch spread helped here too!”

Kiran Matharu - Designer

“You could really feel the true festival spirit at Clerkenwell. It was great to expand my knowledge of new sustainable projects such as Forbo’s new floor range including cocoa nibs. We got time to network and meet new people from different practices. We spent the day exploring the different showrooms, discussing different styles with experts, and thinking about how we can incorporate this into the workplace."

The continuous landscape of change at work—and the greater societal climate as a whole—means we must find ways to keep evolving, and events like Clerkenwell help us stay adaptable, inspired, and connected to the greater design community.
