Outcomes

Challenge

Partnering with co-working giant WeWork, we were tasked with fully fitting out two floors, plus a mezzanine.

Insight

Working on a full CAT A and CAT B fit-out, we ensured the space could accommodate WeWork’s projected headcount, turning their vision into reality.

Solution

With a pre-existing demand for the space, it was critical to meet the deadline so WeWork’s community could start enjoying their new workplace as soon as possible.

Starting as we mean to go on

WeWork Manchester was our first project with the co-working giant. We were tasked with fully fitting out two floors plus a mezzanine. We started with nothing but a shell but by the time we finished, they had a stunning workspace that met their existing standards.

Working to their model

Here at TSK, we know every business is different, which is why we tackle all our briefs with agility, flexibility and adaptability. WeWork came to us with their plan for Manchester, their design pack and their standardisation requirements.

They knew how many offices they wanted and how many people each needed to accommodate. They knew what kind of light fixtures they did and didn’t like. And they knew what style furniture they wanted and where.

We helped them turn their vision into construction drawings and build their space from the ground up, just the way they imagined it.

Making their space safe

The floors WeWork hired in No. 1 Spinningfields weren’t originally designed to accommodate the headcount they projected, so we worked on a full CAT A and CAT B fit-out to ensure their numbers weren’t affected, but their people in Manchester were all safe.

To do just that, we stripped out all the existing lighting and ceiling installations and completely remodified the previous electrical, plumbing and sprinkler systems.

Delivering WeWork’s first Manchester space on time

When WeWork first came to us in August they had a pretty tight deadline for their first co-working space. They already had the demand for their workspace and they had their design plans in place, they just needed someone to materialise them. And we did.

We brought their brief to life, overhauled the building’s CAT A and CAT B fittings, and built a staircase from the mezzanine up to floor two. All right to schedule.
