Transforming an iconic Grade II listed building into one of the UK’s most impressive flexible workplaces.

LABS’s most audacious venture yet

In partnership with LABS’ design team, we transformed four floors of the Grade II listed building into a state-of-the-art flexible workspace. This intricate design required complex engineering and sensitive restoration.

Since some enterprise clients had already secured spaces, it was imperative that these offices matched their layout requirements and were delivered on time and to the highest standard.

This iconic 150,000 s1 ft space, spanning four floors, is modern, flexible and suitable for teams of all sizes.

We were delighted to be selected as LABS’s contracting partner on this project. To see all our collaborative efforts and hard work pay off is absolutely incredible.

 Phil Hannis, Operations Director, TSK

Creating an adaptable space

We began the first phase of the project for LABS in London in late January 2021, starting with a full CAT A & B refurbishment of the fourth and fifth floors (62,000 sq. ft.). In March, COVID-19 hit, which challenged LABS to re-evaluate what their members might need in the new climate. Flexibility was key: creating an open-plan space that could adapt and evolve to suit market demands and their members’ bespoke requirements.

Some enterprise clients had already bought spaces, so it was imperative we ensured these offices matched their layout requirements and were delivered on time, safely.

A delicate transformation of a Grade II listed building

Transforming a Grade II listed building is a complicated project, so it was critical our processes were robust. Working with a precise design in an imprecise building meant we needed to be extremely particular about the materials and products we used, working in accordance with heritage requirements.

LABS’s incredible design team added a modern layer to the space, respectfully complimenting the historical landmark’s timeless architecture.

A work environment fit for the new future

LABS’s high-quality flexible workplace in London is designed to foster collaboration, support wellbeing, feed productivity and encourage meaningful connections.

The impressive new space is fitted out with a rooftop terrace, hotel-inspired lobby, lounge space, multi-use meeting rooms and a wellness suite.

“With this project, we’ve studied and implemented modernised workspace solutions and pushed the boundaries to bring design, wellness and safety to the forefront. The result is a delicate transformation of an iconic building that will define how people live and work.”

Dotan Weiner, Chief Operating Officer, LABS
