The shift in the world of work led Deloitte to incorporate more flexible office space into their global workplace portfolio. We partnered with WeWork to configure two floors for Deloitte at the impressive Grade II listed Hanover Building.

A modern workplace to suit a new way of working

Responding to the change in the way people work, Deloitte needed a flexible solution for their 800-strong Manchester-based team. Manchester is a strategic location for Deloitte, in helping to attract and retain top talent, and so it was imperative they move to a flexible workplace that could support their new hybrid working model.

WeWork is a global leader in flexible space for businesses of all sizes, and their co-working space in the Hanover Building on Corporation Street is already home to another e-commerce giant.

We had previously partnered with WeWork on the 91,000 sq. ft. transformation of Hanover House, creating a blend of historic architecture with modern amenities. We were delighted to be asked to work on this further reconfiguration on behalf of WeWork and Deloitte.

This new environment offers a variety of settings designed to support Deloitte’s work activities whilst also allowing the organisation to remain flexible on lease commitments.

It’s the face of the company’s new ‘hybrid working’ model … we’re giving [staff] a choice about when, where and how they work.

A fast-paced fit-out

This was an ambitious fit-out, with a quick six-week turnaround. Whilst speed was important, the quality, delivery and finish of the project couldn’t be compromised. We worked collaboratively with WeWork and Deloitte to carefully reconfigure the space in Manchester.

The Edwardian Hanover Building needed sympathetic design consideration, careful project planning and clear communication to prevent any unnecessary delays.

A redefined office space to work as you choose

This impressive, new, flexible co-working space at WeWork in the heart of Manchester is a compliment to the Deloitte vision. A space for staff to be proud of, encouraging innovation and productivity whilst maintaining a sense of community.

“We are delighted to partner with Deloitte and look forward to welcoming them into our Manchester community at WeWork in the Hanover Building, a beautiful space designed with collaboration and productivity in mind. The seismic shifts we are seeing in the way the world works are redefining the role of the office, and this is a great example of a business recognising the right workspace as a critical resource that enables connection, innovation and company culture to thrive.”

Mathieu Proust, General Manager UK & Ireland, WeWork

“We have a clear real estate strategy in place, and the move to the Hanover Building is the first step on that journey. The space provides an exciting and inspiring place in which our people can work. It will best support the needs of our people and our clients as we grow our business in the region.’’
